Life Verse: "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us a glory that far outweighs them all. So we focus, not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen in temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." -- 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Testimony: I grew up going to church and learning about God. I was five years old at a camp meeting service when I realized that I needed Jesus forgiveness and I accepted Him into my life. A few years later, I began to sense Him calling me to be in ministry. But it really wasn't until the very end of high school that I began wrestling with the idea that God wanted to be more than simply "in my life." It was when I was starting into college, faced with the choices that would guide much of my life to come, that God became my Lord as well as my Savior. What followed that decision has been some of the most adventurous, exciting, rewarding, and some of the most difficult, scary, and stressful times imaginable. But each day I grow more aware of God's presence, His grace, and His transforming power that is at work in my life. We now are facing a challenge that is much bigger than we are, the task of touching lives with God's grace in other countries. That could be daunting, if we were to look to ourselves as the answer. Or it could be very freeing, if we recognize that the ministry is God's and we are called to faithfulness and obedience. I am choosing to walk in obedience, and freedom. God's grace is sufficient for every challenge.
